Great great movie. Probably best since Nemo or Monsters Inc.

Yeah, its getting killer reviews

I didn't think the previews looked all that great. My wife flat out said she has no interest in seeing it. I told he that I was going to give Pixar the benefit of the doubt since they hadn't screwed up yet. Based on the reviews, they've knocked it out of the park again.

Better than Ratatouille? That is my favorite Pixar movie. Of course, Pixar is awesome, and I've been looking forward to seeing this, but is it that good?

I went and saw it last night. Short Circuit 3, I mean, Wall-E, is a really good movie.

IMHO, its a lot better than Ratataouille. Granted, R wasnt one of my favorite pixars, but this is a lot better of a story line and a lot cuter (can I say that?). :pop:

toy story is the standard by which all Pixar films should be judged.

i think i liked Monsters Inc. better than Toy Story

i liked this one. the cgi is incredible.

there are some HEAVY nods to Kubrick's 2001

I was just watching the review CBS The Morning Show is giving on Wall-E.

They say there isn't much dialogue from the main characters but it's Pixars best work since Finding Nemo.

Also...it's dubbed "A Work of Art".

Rental.

See you in 3 months Wall-E.

If dialogue was important, then Cast Away wouldnt have made the multi millions that I did. Trust me, go see the movie...you will be amazed and yer WO-man will love you fer it.

The CGI cant be beat. I told the fiance I would have to get it on Blue Ray when it comes out, and I dont own DVDs.

Well, perhaps the mistake is it didn't have an all-star voice cast and rapid-fire pop culture references.

Pixar has some serious guts. I thought the movie was brilliant, but it is paced rather slowly and the plot doesn't exactly flow. It's not the type of movie that one would expect to be a blockbuster hit. But then again, neither was Ratatouille.

this environment thing is getting pretty heavyhanded from the left coast though ;)

Agreed with the movie being brilliant...

But seriously, you don't expect a Pixar movie released in the summer to be a hit? I don't know about you, but I'm buying that stock at nearly any price.

I know! Another message about "man's so called impact on the earth"...who believes that crap?;)

Visually, very cool

No where near as entertaining as Toy Story.

I thought it was great. Another win for Pixar. I think Wall-E says a total of 6 words. Honestly, I didn't even notice the lack of dialogue. Am I alone, or did you guys not really notice it either?

It took me awhile to notice it...really until Eve showed up, I didn't notice it at all.

I loved it. I noticed the lack of dialogue right off, wondered if the whole thing was going to be like that. I figured if so, this movie is going to have to be pretty gosh darn visually compelling to compensate. And it was.

I wondered if my six-year-old daughter would be able to appreciate it, but she loved it too.

I especially loved the closing montage at the end, with all the different artistic styles used to illustrate the rebuilding of Earth. Brilliant and really beautiful. Make sure you stick around when the credits first roll or you'll miss that.

Neither would have No Country for Old Men. ;)

And as to the point of this thread, wife, child, and I just got back from seeing it at Tinseltown in Grapevine.

We all liked it. Yes, it was cute, but what do you expect from a Pixar movie? Also had the kind of adult references that you'd expect. Perhaps the reason some people don't have an inclination in seeing it is because unlike Ratatouille last year, there's been almost nada promotion for this movie.

It's certainly not the greatest (Toy Story movies and Cars top my list), but it's right about where Monster's Inc. is. Maybe right above it, I dunno.

Cars was the best evar. Even the daughter liked it. Monster's Inc. was great too but could put a scare into kids that were Toddler aged.

I really hope that the kids pick Wall-E over Kung Fu.

And Wall-E was amazing. Take a date.

1. The magicians act cartoon thingy before the movie was freaking hysterical!
2. Anyone know where I can score me one of those floaty around/do everything for you chairs?
3. The movie was better than I expected.

Is it appropriate for a 3 year old and a five year old?

Very much. Plus, it will teach them to not be lazy/fat and that they should take care of their mother earth or else....

A couple of friends of a rather conservative bent were ticked at the environmental message in the film, but everyone else I've talked to loved it.

What else would they expect from Hollywood?

I think making kids aware of their environment is an important issue. I really didn't think it came off too preachy for younger ones. It really did have some amazing CGI. I would recommend it to everyone, no matter your political, or animation viewpoint.

Another push forward for Pixar!

the environment thing wasn't really played up as much as the lazy thing

my biggest problem was that it was only 700 years later

I loved it, and I know Pixar probably has a ton of creative license over content, but did anybody else find it a bit funny that Disney was preaching anti-consumerism?

Buy n Large was pretty good, it's not quite as good as Megalo Mart, but good nonetheless

Well, I think you could find an underlying political message in there if you want to. As in...

This is what happens, kids, when you allow an entire population to submit to the will of socialism. ;)

The wife and I took the kids to see it yesterdayand we thought it was the worst Pixar movie to date. No dialogue for the 1st 25 minutes and the message was weak sauce. Best part of the movie was the scene with the fish plaque on the wall. The kids though it was OK but I wish we would have saw Space Chimps instead. My three year old lost interest about half way thru...so did Mom & Dad.

Glad I had had free tickets for the kids.
