I know that we have Jimmy Stevens, but I think Way could be our next Garrett Hartley. The kid has an awesome leg. Here's the link.

At the very least we need him for kickoffs. All of our guys can make a FG from where we need them to, but we need someone to kick it into the endzone so that teams don't start from the 35-40.

If he's got a great leg, then I feel a lot better about our ST performance this year!

I watched Tress Way grow up playing soccer and the kid could put speed and distance on the ball...........he will be the field goal and kickoff specialist before it all over.

Funny thing is he wasn't on the OU radar until Von Schauman saw him at one of the OU camps Way attended..............which by the way had numerous highly recruited kickers attending..............look who got the call. Sit back and enjoy watching this young man.

He has a very strong leg. Pretty good-sized young man. I won't be surprised if he wins the place-kicking job as a true freshman.

Further proof that recruiting services and 5-star lists are no substitute for traditional recruiting.

Tress has good size and is built very thick from the waist down........good technique. My kid played soccer with his younger brother so we have had the pleasure of watching him on the soccer, baseball and football field.

Story I was told from a very relaible source was Von Schawman called Coach Bob and ask him to come down and meet Tress during the kicking camp to see him kick................they pulled Tress aside and had him kick from several distances which equaled 50 yards or more............after watching Coach Bob told him to give him a call in a couple of weeks..............you know the rest of the story.

I see it as Stevens for the XPs and FGs under 40. Way will kick FGs 40+ and KOs. Knall should remain the punter.

Way's got a pretty good boot as a punter also.
