be careful. i've always heard most people who get hurt bad on motorsickles do so within the first 10,000 miles.

and you better be wearing a dang helmet or the next time I see you I'm going to insist you drop and give me twenty.;)

then I'm gonna tell that purty wife of yours to make sure your will and such are all up to snuff.

Congrats....

I have put about 16K on mine in 4 years, I don't ride much in 100+ temps. I have been considering a newer one.

The best advice I have ever heard about motorcycles?Once you are no longer scared its time to park them or to put it another way,NEVER forget how dangerous riding is.It only takes a couple of seconds of inattention or one car driving moron who DIDN'T SEE YOU and you become an organ donor.

This ain't no Bikerfox Thread.

BTW...I saw some guy screaming at him the other night.

I was at Charlestons Restaurant getting out of the car and Bikerfox was riding his training wheeled equiped bike in the only two lanes they have open due to road construction.

I thought the guy was gonna road rage on him....

I would have delayed dinner for that. :D

I haven't bought a new one yet, I still have my 2000 Triumph Sprint ST with 32,000 miles on it. I test rode an Aprilia Caponord a couple of weeks ago and looking at the Triumph Tiger, Ducati Multistrada and Moto Guzzi Breva 1100.

Here is mine at Table Rock Lake.

The Speed Triple is a hooligan bike, it can make people do very bad things http://forum.austinrat.org/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif
As one of the the Brit guys in the Austin Rat Pack who has one says, "they are wicked, bloody fun"

Was it a new 1050 or older 955i?

yermom
6/21/2008, 06:22 PM
1050, it's a 2007

i started the day on his UM/Hyosung SV650 clone, they are both vast departures from my little CB360

So...when are you getting one?

There is another guy in our group who went from the Speed to the Street Triple (675). He said that it is marginally less tempting to do stupid stuff on but great fun for throwing around out in the Hill Country.

We have a guy on Two Wheeled Texans (http://www.twtex.com/) who has MADD, Motorcycle Attention Deficit Disorder. He has three in the garage, just this year he has had 5 different ones, I think. Right now in his garage, Yamaha FJR, Honda Gold Wing and a H-D Sportster (large black engine model). He has had the Gold Wing since March, the FJR replaced a BMW 1200GS (his second GS in the past 2 years) last month and I think he got the Sportster last November. In the 5 years that I have known him, he has had probably 25 motorcycles. He isn't independently wealthy, he is a Commander for the Austin-Travis County EMS. He was buying cash bikes after selling his Road King 4 years ago until he started buying new BMW's... which he evidently got rid of last month.
