Not enough, Vet. Not NEARLY enough, I'd be willing to bet.

Folks, keep Sgt. Richard G. Desautels in the back of your mind next time you buy some cheapo piece of **** from Wal-Mart.

Since the North Koreans,Chinese ,Vietnamese have long maintained that Korea and Viet Nam were not wars and our men were not protected under the Geneva Convention I have long feared this fate for missing Korea,VN vets.

and the other side of that coin olevet is that some of them were also successfully 'brainwashed'. I have a feeling the admitted guy was one that wasn't.

Numerous returned POWs said Desautels had spent several months inside China before being returned to Camp 5 in 1952.

Not surprising that it took them this long to admit this atrocity.

What's their motivation for owning up to it now? Just the transparency of their lying all these years?

I'd say that the Beijing Olympics have a fair share to do with it. Hell, like I posted in another thread about return of remains from Vietnam didn't happen until we began some semblance of 'normalized' relations with them in the late 80s.
