So you OKC metro area folks have seen the Mr. Sprigg's Barbecue ad (http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/6333bbea47), right? The R&B jingle for a MWC barbecue joint that seems to want you to make sweet, sweet love to barbecue? It airs on local TV, usually late at night.

Well, somebody put the commercial up on Funny or Die, and it's Will Ferrell's current number one pick. (http://www.funnyordie.com/celebrity_picks#will_ferrell)

Okay, so the guy who wrote the Mr. Spriggs jingle posted on Funny or Die. He is a gospel singer from Spencer. The song the jingle is based on is called "Never Play on Playa." It's a strong message for young men about living up to their responsibilities.

I listened to it and couldn't think about anything but tender, juicy smoked meats. And tangy sauce.

That place is legit...when I was at Midwest City HS, we would hit that place up all the time at their old location. Now they are in an old Burger King on Air Depot, but you need to go...it is Big League! Makes me almost miss MWC...almost.

I don't think it was ever a Pizza Hut. I remember it opening up as Burger King in the 80s (you can tell from the 80s architecture of the building) and then when Burger King went out, it was something like Classic Diner and then Big Ed's for a while. Mr. Spriggs moved in when they redid the SE 29th rebuild and tore down their location at Air Depot and 29th St.
