Tomorrow is my 21st birthday, I'm pretty excited about it, and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations on what beer or liquor I should try (besides the usual gas station beer obviously) any help would be greatly appreciated

first of all go to the liquor store and buy your self something nice.
if it were me i would buy gentleman jack then enjoy a nice cocktail before you go out

next i would suggest not trying too much as you probably won't remember what you tried the next day.

Word. There is nothing more overrated than trying to drink your age in shots on your birthday. Have a good meal and a couple of quality beers and you will remember it a lot more fondly than puking allover yourself in some bars bathroom and having your stomach pumped.

Make sure you have a decent meal early... drink lots of water during the night and you will last a lot longer. Go to a bunch of bars and be a cotton whore and you wont have to buy new clothes for a while.

I find Jager bombs always work best for me... B vitamins, caffeine, and alcohol added stamina, energy, and a hunger for whatever you can get ;)

Happy Birthday. Go out, drink a lot, have a great time, be careful, and most importantly strike up a conversation w/a random hot gal and buy her a drink or two.
Also, you gotta end up in an "Awful Waffle" House or an I-Hop after the bars close, that's the only way to roll.

That being said, a few of my liquor store favorite beers are Pyramid Hefeweizen, Warsteiner, Bitburger. Oh and the new Boulevard Irish Ale is really good.
If all else fails, hit the jager bombs at the bar as some others have said.

Let's see, on my 21st birthday I had already spent 3 years in the Army, been discharged, and was working for the USPS. I really don't remember the day, cause I had already lived about 40 years in my head, and had been going to bars since I was about 15 or so.

I'm jealous of kids who turn 21 and are all jazzed up about hitting the bar for the first time.

I fifth the Jager bombs. There's a new shot that's 3/4 Jag and 1/4 red bull. Better in the long run. 3 wise man down here is Jager, Southern Comfort, and Rumplemint. That will knock you straight out.

Be lucky you're not with my buds. Our 21st shot is called the "runway" shot. It's taking the rubber mat and cleaning rag and twisting and soaking it into one nasty *** shot. Usually the B-day boy is already hammered and drinks it like kool-aid. Good times.

A real Three Wise Men is made with Jim, Johnny, and Jack. I prefer a Four Horsemen, myself, which is that plus either Jose or Jameson, depending on where you are.

Sounds like the 3 wisemen varies from bar to bar. I would trust the Oklahoma bars over the Arkansas hole in the wall bar that I had a 3 wisemen shot at.
Either way a 3 wisemen is disgusting and should never be taken. :D

Not sure. But glad you mentioned the tea.
We got a new restaurant in Broken Arrow called "Santa Fe Cattle Company". They've got a drink called Redneck Tea that was really good and really stout if you like long island ice teas. It is similar to a Long Island Ice Tea, but had maybe a couple different liquors in it.

We used to drink a similar type of alteration we called "Electric Lemonade"...

There was a bar by Riverlanes Bowling Alley in Tulsa named "Dummies". :D

Lots of the folks who worked at Osage Casino (It was mainly Bingo then)...would come there to drink. The Bartender I knew there named "Wacker" made the Electric Lemonade in a Mini-Pitcher for you if you wanted it. He would even give you two straws if your Lady wanted to lovingly partake in the sweetness that was....THE ELECTRIC LEMONADE. :D
