A five-year-old behind us before Hellboy started: "Mommy, I don't wanna see this movie!"

The Condemned was funny because it was so ridiculous. Bang bang, another dead! Hey look, the asian character knows kung fu! Worst line of the movie: "When I saw how many had logged in to watch this online, I was no longer angry, I was sad. We truly are... the condemned." BOOOOOOOOO! Awful line!!!!!

Steve Martin made Pink Panther bearable, but it was a very stupid movie.

badger, why don't you like video game movies? ;)

I'm personally waiting for Wii Sports, the Movie.

I think the 2 worst movies I've ever seen are Piranha and Fortress 2. Fortress 2 gets the nod because it features a normal human opening a hatch on a space station and "swimming" across space to another hatch on the space station with no protective gear.

Edit: The dude actually did take a deep breath before jumping out into space so that's probably why it was OK.

I quote it because I know that you despise it... oh, and you showed the wrong movie poster! I only quote Episode 3 now, although Episode 2 was fun while it lasted.

And I deny any and all geekdom charges. Girls can't be video game geeks. It's against everything video game geeks are.

In case you are curious what the oft quoted lines are, this is what it is...

Annie-kin: You are so... beautiful.
Padme: Only because I'm so in love.
Anakin: No, it's because I'm so in love with you.
Padme: So love has blinded you?
Anakin: (pathetic laughing) No, that's not what I meant.
Padme: It's probably true, though.

So, whenever Thomas attempts to be romantic and tells me that I'm beautiful, I respond in a mocking voice "Only because I'm so in love." He hates it immensely and refuses to play along, so I sometimes need to finish the dialogue for him. :D

Read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Or watch the most recent movie. Fanboys that hated it didn't really get the whole HHGTTG spirit. There are a crapload of versions, ALL written by Douglas Adams, and none of them bear any resemblance to each other. Why should we expect the movie to be exactly like the book? What about the radio version? And the OTHER movie (that WAS terrible), etc. etc.

Well, the old movie version did have its moments. But overall, I'd take the newer one.

BBC movies share a similar problem. Much like their version of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather. They do a good job, but the pacing is just much slower than American movies. Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams (like Monty Python) have a kind of hyperactivity that BBC doesn't usually capture well.

Woodcock had Sean William Scott

Yes. I liked him in American Pie and he was okay in Evolution (that should go in the underrated movies thread), but he was totally miscast for this role. I would thought that Billy Bob Thornton would have brought at least some entertainment value, but then I remembered he was in Bad Santa as well. Add that one to this list.

Matrix - ok, but overrated (1st one awesome, 2 & 3 meh.)

Constantine - for some reason I hate this movie

Devil's Advocate - for some reason when it comes on I cant stop watching it, but i still think it sucks. I Think i like it for the redhead, screaming all and he weird demon people.

Point Break - win.

Bill and Ted - win.

The replacements - win, but because of the wiry guy and the hot cheerleader not keanu.

Don't forget Parenthood, Speed and A Scanner Darkly.

Keanu may be a horrible actor, but he has a good taste in scripts.

(p.s. I like Constantine.)

I would say the same thing, but I kept going for lack of anything better to do. While it really didn't get any better, I saw some "Sweded" movies on youtube that were hilarious. If it hadn't been for sticking it out I wouldn't have found them nearly as funny. However, by no means is this an endorsement of it, actually stay very far away from it.

Donald Sutherland really needs to talk to his agent.

Couldn't go through the entire thread as of yet, but the two I'd say:

Dumb and DumberER (The first one is one of the funniest movies ever made)

You Don't Mess with the Zohan

Adam Sandler has stopped trying. This movie was a waste of time. Not a funny line in the whole movie. They muddle up words trying to speak with accents, and you can't understand the jokes that they're trying to make. HORRIBLE.

Anything starring Jim Carrey.

You my friend are HIGH. Ace Ventura is one of his best characters. Bruce Almighty, The Truman Show, The Mask, Me, Myself, and Irene? All Great movies. Not to mention the best movie of all time: Dumb and Dumber.

I have lost total faith in all of society.:D

Donnie Sutherland has been in *a lot* of crap. He was in Lock-Up for chrissakes. i saw the preview for Fools Gold on a rental and it looked really really awful. and i kind of like Kate Hudson, or thought i did, or wanted too.

maybe.

all of those films would have been far better with well...anyone other than him. the fact that you think dumb and dumber is 'the best movie of all time' is the best reason to have no faith in humanity. :)

I called that when I first saw the preview....you can't understand a word he says. I might catch it on HBO with the close-captioning turned on.

Recent movies we saw:

Get Smart (brilliant! wonderful! will definitely make you laugh!)
Indiana Jones (um, ok, so that skill thingy is a water soluble alien?)
Prince Caspian (a ncessary bridge between Lion/Witch/Wardrobe and Dawn Treader)
Iron Man (it makes you like a spoiled billionaire that makes money off destroying the world)
Speed Racer (a lot more fun than reviews would have you believe)

Out of all of them, I think Indy should have been made 15 years ago so they could have the Nazis as the enemies still, but not "awful" and while it shouldn't have been made now, it shouldn't have "never" been made.

Speed Racer should have been made after the comic made a comeback, not to help the comic make a comeback. Movies are higher budget and should be an afterthought of an already successful idea. However, it was not "awful," but indeed an abysmal failure at the box office.

Get Smart was awesome, regardless of what the critics think. We took my parents (in their 50s) and my great aunt and one of her friends (both in their 90s). All of us loved it.
