Yup...

But the thing is with Rolexes....

There's better watches for cheaper.

There's also this....

$350k

For $350K that had better come with an Aston Martin Vanquish and Natalie Portman.

Funny thing about Japanese watches...

They're excellent production grade stuff.

But they don't hold much value for some reason.

Maybe in the future, that'll change.

Like mine...

But I don't have the day/date. Just the regular datejust.
I like my watch to be 7 minutes or so fast. My watch likes to be 10-12 minutes fast.

I think you can have that adjusted fairly easy.

Just make sure you take it to a certified Rolex guy/gal.

I am afraid of the sticker shock for the tab. Mebbe it's free (should be), but I am not planning on it.

and no, I am NOT Bruce.:gary:

I'm obviously not with the in crowd. My $50 Timex Ironman is just fine thank you very much. I can be hard on watches, so I fail to see why you would spend more than a 100 bucks on one. I sure would like to feel comfortable with a 10K watch on my wrist, but I don't think I will ever get there.

Just replaced the battery after 5 years.

Wow, how trendy. It is so cool it doesn't even serve its original purpose.

haven't worn watches for the last decade. I did wear one for a bit 3-4 years back, but just couldn't get used to it.

Yup, those have a certain niche.

Not sure on value retention since technology progresses.

Weird how mechanicals that have been around for hundreds of years just seem to get more expensive and elaborate.

Yet some of the basic principles haven't changed.

I started trading Rolexes when I was in high school. My first was a 3/4 size air king. I was able to eventually trade up to a 2-tone submariner with a cobalt face. I traded that one for this, my 2-tone Daytona, about 15 years ago--it's the only one I ever bought new.

This one is a keeper.

Won this one at a golf scrambe on the longest drive. I did a Happy Gilmore drive after the scratch golfer I was scambling with drove one right down the middle. I have no idea how my drive stayed in, but it did. Has been a pretty good watch.
