Last night I went to a benefit where for $20 you could buy a wrapped bottle of wine - you couldn't see the label, so you didn't know what you were getting. the wines were worth anywhere from $20-$300, and I'm wondering what it is that I got.
It's a 1989 Hafner Cab Sav - Hafner is a california vineyard. Can anyone help me?

why does it matter how much it "costs"?
Hafner has a website.

I'd say it's a $20 bottle of wine.

It looks like $300 for a 1.5 l bottle on this wine list

If it was for a benefit, your kindness is worth something, too.

hafner doesn't have this year listed anywhere, I checked. and I'm just curious about the normal price of it. I"ll probably give it to someone as a gift and I'll want to know if it's a really good gift or a so-so gift. it might determine who I give it to.

You can tell a lot by sniffing the screw-cap when you open the bottle.
