This is a poll for mostly Republicans, Independents, and Hillary supporters who may or may not vote strictly along party lines.

I don't care for McCain's views on many things, but I respect the hell out him.

Hussien is an empty suit next to McCain.

I wish he would pick Joe Lieberman as his running mate. A sure win.

Option 2, but I would have much preferred Ron Paul.

Do you honestly think that? Most Jews are very liberal.

I think that the governor from Florida or Louisiana would be solid choices.

Or South CarolinaOr Oklahoma ? :D I think Huckabee is best choice followed by Romney.

I like Huck tremendously, but I think Crist, Sanford, Jindal, or Frist have a better chance on making the ticket. And making the ticket more attractive, at that.

Frist = no way. Loaded with $$, but he is the doctor who isn't sure if he can get HIV from shaking hands.

Honestly, of the last 3 standing, BO, HC, or JM, I would have been happy with any of the 3. I liked Hillary's policy savvy the best, but honestly I think too many in the country would just remain divided if she won.

So, I'm pretty optimistic about where the campaigns are right now.

If Obama picks Clinton as his running mate, the election is basically his to lose.

With her negatives and his combined if he picks her as his VP he has lost the election.

edit...let me add here that I sincerely hope he does pick her as his running mate.

Jindal would make a great VP candidate, but it definitely will not be him. He needs to and wants to fix Louisiana before anything else. He's already doing a helluva job there. I can definitely see him running for Prez in 2012 or 2016 though.

I have to agree with you there. I like Obama, I really do. But I will not vote for him if he puts a Clinton one breath away from being the president again. I don't dislike McCain enough to vote for Obama/Hillary. If she does wind up his VP, I will probably wind up voting republican again this year :(

I don't like Obama, or I should say I don't like his politics, but I will give him credit enough that I don't think he's dumb/naive enough to choose her...

...but I do have my fingers crossed! :P

I think he's going to have the same role as Obama did at the '04 DNC this year at the RNC. Primetime speech - setting him up perfect for '12 or '16.

I'm kinda like you. Happily doesn't hit my opinion perfectly, but I'm closer to that than "I don't like him". So I picked the top choice.
I liked McCain better in his last attempt...even got to shake his hand and watch him speak at my college at that time..and then he dropped out of the race.
I still like him now, but I'm not sold that he is the best option for president either.
So IMHO he's the better choice than Obama

Just to emphasize your point...I always thought Colin Powell would be the first black president, but his wife nixed that. Not that I'm a big Powell supporter, but place him alongside BHO...wow, is Barry sadly lacking in experience, prestige, respectability, associations, whatever.....

Wow...I didn't realize Crist had so much personal baggage....

In July 1979, he married Amanda Marrow, a sorority member of Delta Delta Delta from Palm Beach County. The couple had no children and divorced less than a year later in 1980. His ex-wife now sells real estate in Ponte Vedra Beach,Fl. He never remarried, remaining single since the divorce. Some continue to question his true sexuality, and while he publicly states that he is not homosexual, various sources have alleged that Crist is homosexual. [7] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist#cite_note-6) Other sources have recently linked him with various women, including: Katie Pemble, 43, a St. Petersburg banker; Kelly Heyniger, 37, of West Palm Beach, a former South Carolina beauty queen; Carole Rome, 38,a recently divorced owner of a Halloween costume business and former New York socialite.[8] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist#cite_note-7) Several years ago, Governor Crist also dated Katherine Harris (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katherine_Harris), former Secretary of State of Florida (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secretary_of_State_of_Florida) and a former member of the US House of Representatives (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_House_of_Representatives).[9] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist#cite_note-8)
In 1989, there was a paternity matter where Crist denied being the father of a child put up for adoption. Rebecca O'Dell Townsend, nee Wharrie, gave birth to a girl, whom she said was fathered by Crist after a one-time sexual encounter in the fall of 1988. In May 1989, Crist signed an affadavit and other paperwork stating he was denying paternity and claimed no parental rights. The issue came up again in January 2007, some believe because Crist's political enemies raised it, others believe it rose up as an issue because the child was becoming a college bound adult and curious about her birth parents. The St. Petersburg Times newspaper began to question the Governor's office about the possibility of DNA testing and were told by the Governor's staff that the question was "inappropriate". [10] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist#cite_note-9)
He is thought to be a potential candidate for national office.[11] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Crist#cite_note-10)
