LOL I know I'm on the Dominique Franks train this year! He is my guy. I pick 1 player every year to cheer extra loud for. Last year being Adron Tennell. This year it's all about Dominique Franks, HE IS GOING TO BE "THAT GUY" THIS YEAR. Can anybody tell me where I can order a number 15 jersey from, I know its joey's number too, but I will order the 15, and get Franks put on the back of it from a friend. Anybody got any ideas?? Sorry to bug you guys but i really need this.

He absolutly will not get 1000 yards. I didnt say I gave up on Tennell. I just pick a different player every year. 2006-2007 was Jacob Gutierrez.

I think Murray would have to be the best we have right now. I didn't see any thing great from Justin Johnson or Madu in the spring. I guess we'll have to see what Calhoun's got, but if Murray gets up to 215 like he plans then look out he'll be a beast.

Chris Brown is consistent, but not flashy and I'm not sure he has breakaway speed. I don't remember what his longest run was last year.

who cares about his longest run. he gives you 3rd and 3. Brown has had some nice games for us, 2nd half against Missouri comes to mind. Texas Tech in 06.
i'm not sure Murray is an every down back.

what the crap does it matter if he is a 30 carry a game back or a 20, he gives you td's and big plays...calling a back a "every down" back or not is so overrated...this isnt the NFL

Your totally right, there is a huge difference between NFL running and College running. We are in college.

We have many great runners right now at OU.
You can rank them for each of their skills.
Overall I think it is DeMarco Murray.
But Chris Brown is a heck of a short yardage and up the middle runner.
DeMarco is a big threat on the corner and out of the backfield for screens and such.
I haven't seen a lot of Johnson or Madu so it is hard to tell about these two guys.
I am very excited about Jeremy Calhoun. I hope he lives up to the hype.

i see calhoun having a big impact this year; plus have you forgotten chris brown?

I'm not hating Chris Brown the dude is our Marion Barber. I believe the question was greatest runner now. I was only saying Murray because Brown doesn't have break away speed and he's not flashy. I'm glad we have him and I think it will be him and Murray getting the bulk.

I don't think DM7 or anyone else will be THE MAN(barring injuries ,of course) this season.I think it will be team approach like this past year.With Murray,Brown both banged up I just don't see a dominant back emerging.I think IF DM7 returns in top form the depth chart will be :
Murray
Brown
Madu
I expect Johnson and Calhoun will redhirt,again this is barring injury.I fully expect Bob to use at least 3 tailbacks.

I don't know how many plays we'll get a a game but I would guess Murray gets about 15 -20 a game and Brown and Madu will get maybe 10 a piece. I don't think the running back by commitee worked last year.

I think Madu is the reason we could redshirt all of our incoming WR's.
