Just moved across on the wire a couple of minutes ago. Loved his role as Ed Higgins on "The Carol Burnett Show" and "Mama's Family," and of course, as Hedley Lamarr on "Blazing Saddles."
LOS ANGELES - A UCLA Medical Center spokeswoman says actor Harvey Korman has died.
Hospital spokeswoman Roxanne Moster said Korman died Thursday but she released no details.
The Emmy-winning star of such TV programs as "The Carol Burnett Show" and films such as "Blazing Saddles," was 81.

Sad day for the entertainment world when one of it's legends of comedy....the kind a family could sit and enjoy passes away, ok...maybe not Blazing Saddles but you get the idea.

I always loved the way that he couldn't keep a straight face around Tim Conway. Classic. RIP.

Thanks for all the laughs, Harvey, and there were always many when you hit the stage or screen. Not a bad legacy at all.

dang. Dick Martin and Harvey Korman less than a week apart. Who's next? One of the Smothers Brothers? These things are supposed to come in threes.

Honestly, I'm surprised that both Smothers Brothers are still living.

de Monnnnney de Monnnnney!
Any moment, Tim Conway is going to die. In a couple of days, they'll open his casket and somewhere, Harvey Korman's body will burst out in laughter.

My nephew was 10 years old in 1989 when my mom died. He had endured all the grown ups reminding him all day that she was gone and I wanted to do something to ease his pain (and mine). I rented "Blazing Saddles". We laughed until we literally cried. Everyone was looking to the back of the house where we were busting our guts because they were still in serious funeral mode which would have made my mom wretch. Maybe it isn't for the whole family but it made me and the nephew feel a whole lot better that day. Thanks Harvey, Slim, Cleavon and the rest.

A great comic talent and an amazingly prescient description from Mel Brooks of today's DNC superdelegates

I remember a Carol Burnett sketch about conjoined elephants that shared a trunk. I don't remember the whole thing, just watching Harvey Korman try to keep a straight face while Tim Conway told the story was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen.
Nevermind. Just watched it on youtube..it was Dick van Dyke sitting there.
Still funny...

Yep... and you can imagine Harvey waiting in the wings laughing his arse off. In fact, he was probably egging the crew on as they went through it.
Tim Conway was/is a funny, FUNNY guy! I'm not sure we have any of those funny guys left now... I guess so, but it's all either gone to stuff you can't share with your family, or very mediocre.
I miss sketch comedy.
