So I'm on my 3rd sortie of the IQT (initial. qual.) phase today...the mission was supposed to be simple- orbit over Abilene for a long time and come home. Then I get a call from the guys in the back asking if we want to get a tanker...hell yah! Great...now all I have to do is figure out a way for us to get to UTAH to get air-refueled. Five minutes later...I have the flightplan drawn up and we're on our way!
That, ladies and gentlemen is why I LOVE MY JOB!!! I can't tell you how happy I am to get up there and finally be doing what the Air Force hired me to do.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
p.s. KC-135's may be small planes on the ground...but they're big *** mofos when they're 40 feet above you. I don't think I'll ever get tired of refueling...it rawks!
