Is there anything better on a hot day than a ripe, homegrown tomato? Such tasty goodness, especially when paired with thick sliced bacon on a BLT.
Another favorite is the caprese salad--tomatoes, mozzarella and basil drizzled with just a little balsalmic vinagrette and pesto, so yummy!

All you need is a tomato and a dash of salt and pepper. Greatness.

My annual tradition: make a BLT with the first ripe tomato of the season. Only I omit the L.
I have only 16 planted this year. i usually have 25. I eat them for breakfast lunch and dinner.
My family, my job, and my tomatoes.

That Bruschetta recipe looks good. she pronounced it wrong, but at least she knows the Bruschetta is the bread and not the topping.

I like tomato products, but cannot eat the tomato itself. I've always thought a fresh, plump, dark red garden tomato looked delicious and I wish I liked them, but they're nasty.

i used to feel the same way...then I went on vacation and the tomatoes there just looked too good, I had to try one...the smaller types of tomatoes are not as nasty as the big ones. I stick to Roma, grape and cherry tomatoes for eating raw.
I know someone who eats fresh tomatoes like an apple.

I ate the first celebrity tomato from my garden today as well! Severl more are near ready! I have 30 plants, 3 of which are cherry. The cherry have been delivering for about three weeks! :D
I also have Japeloneos and bell peppers. Corn, green beans, and of course okra! The tomatos were the last to give ripe fruit.
