For Mrs. Rogue's birthday. She wanted a gate arbor thing-a-ma-jigger for the vine to climb over.

It's straight, the fence is on a sloping hill and follows the ground-line:

Here's one just to brag on the beauty of East Tennessee that I keep tellin' y'all about:

OK, two:

I hope she likes it. I still have all 10 fingers, but barely.

Nice view fer sure.

If it'd a been me, I'd have made it look more like a pagoda.

Just sayin.'

I built one of those for my mom in high school shop. It wasn't quite as square as yours thanks to my measure once, cut twice philosophy I was using at that time.

Hey Rogue, in all seriousness, ain't that thing covered with vines, going to obstruct your view of the mountains?

BTW, I recognize the Homer bucket in the last picture. I have three or four of those in my garage.

Naw, where it really sits is shown in the first 3 pics. The last 2 pics are just where I stood it up while I was working on it. It didn't stay there on that side o' the yard so that view is unchanged. Where the vine will get on it by the smaller gate is just a view of the neighbors on that side and won't be missed. :D

That's awesomeness, Rogue - the view, the greenery and your craftsmanship.

Broader planks on top could help in shading until the plants grow over it.

Of course, if you'd built that thing in Oklahoma and put the broader planks on top, it would probably fly.

That's like my sis who wanted a trampoline her whole life and got one for her daughter, only to see the trampoline bounce around the yard and against her house on one day in May several years ago.

Sorry, back on point. It's great. Good jorb!

Thanks.

Mrs. Rogue is wanting a real pergola over the back deck. I think that's a job I'll hire out instead of DITY.

To quote my father-in-law, "we keep cuttin' and it's still too short!"

Nice! I built a charger-organizer on Sunday, and I'll probably start on the table the missus wants this weekend. I need to get a battery for the free circular saw I got, though...
