They'll f*** it up.

Instead of being invaded by commies like in the old movie, a right-wing Christian government will take America over, and teenage rebels wearing Chi shirts from the public school system will save us.

Fixed.

Did you see the Russian Communist Party's reaction to the new Indiana Jones movie? Red Dawn would make them go into a collective Linda Blair.

Jerk

Fixed.

They won't use guns either to fight back. Waterballons, rock music, and pot will be their weapons of choice.

So who is going to invade us in the 21st century? China? The EU? The entire Middle East? A re-built Soviet Union?

See, they said re-make but who said it has to be contemporary? Why couldn't it still take place in the 80's and have a Soviet invasion?

Then what's the point of re-making it? They did such a good job with the first.

Dont' ask me. I'm not the one wanting to do it. But it sure as hell hasn't stopped them before. I mean look at Planet of the Apes, King Kong, and even non-ape themed re-makes.

will the bad guys be Red Chinese, Venezualans, Islamo-fascists or all three?

There's a thought....the Venezualans can be what the Cubans were to the Soviets in the movie, with the Red Chinese taking the role of the Soviets.

It'll be the Obama-nation.

We're being taken over by illegal immigrants!Maybe the new Red Dawn should feature illegals overunning emergency rooms with pregnant girls and tuberculosis cases, shutting down the entire US healthcare industry, at the same time gasoline hitting $10 per gallon, and gas stations being held hostage by volunteers from the DNC.

I don't know which makes me sadder, a potential Red Dawn remake, or a potential Robocop remake.

I'm waiting for them to rename the renegade possey the Buckeyes just to appease all the Acorn Aggies who are still boycotting the original movie.

He tested for and was nearly cast as Marty McFly in Back to the Future (1985). The role was given to Eric Stoltz (who was later fired in the middle of filming) and then finally, Michael J. Fox.

I did not know that.

holy crap.

after that Eric Stoltz was doomed to be Mask and then be in every indie movie ever made, along with Parker Posey

i could write a thesis on this, kinda like the Michael Caine/Gene Hackman thing :D

I'm convinced. You weren't created the old fashion way, you're a wayward science project created by two pokes.

It had to have involved a homeless man and a turkey baster.

Don't think they can find some young actors as cheesy as C Thomas Howell and Patrick Swayze?

When I was 12 I thought it was such a great movie. I watched it again recently - cheesy as hell.

Don't cry.....let it turn into something else...

Eric Stoltz can be summed up with The Wild Life and his cameo in Pulp Fiction...nuff said.

i'd bet he's been in more movies than Kevin Bacon

i watched way too many indie flicks in the 90's :)
