Osaka to be exact, to check out some factories. Unless it ends up being too much for the group if us from work to go, then I, low man on the totem pole, get bumped.

Ticket booked! We get the weekend off so a coworker and I are thinking about taking a train to Kyoto. Apparently there's alot to see there (gardens/temples)

Then it's off to super polluted Wenzhou China!

Anyone ever been or have any suggestions for the Osaka area?

Update from Fukui Japan at 12:15 a.m. Thursday (aka The Future)

Jet Lag = fail.
Ambien = Win.

So far, Japan is amazing. Did you guys know that the official population of Japan is somewhere around a ****load of people, give or take a few? Jesus. Toting my suitcase through the train station in morning commute was insane.

Don't do anything cool on here while I'm gone. ;)

Osaka is famous for being a culinary center, much like Milan is in Italy.

Osaka is famous for being a culinary center, much like Milan is in Italy.

Italian cuisine > random organic substance fished out of the ocean and served with rice

(But Japanese rice is the awesome.)

I dunno much about Osaka, but I've been to Kyoto. Check out Sanjusangendo Temple - very cool. http://farstrider.net/Japan/Kyoto/Sanjusangendo.htm

Also check out Kiyomizu Temple - way up on the side of a mountain (still in town) and very cool as well.

http://farstrider.net/Japan/Kyoto/Kiyomizudera.htm

And check out that Japanese baseball if you can. The familiar game with some very unfamiliar accoutrements. Very fun and welcoming, though, at least at the game I went to in Tokyo.

Thanks!

We're actually not getting any time in Osaka. Spent the last 2 days in Fukui, 2hrs northwest by the coast.

We are headed to Kyoto tomorrow so I will make your suggestions known. I had read about the temple on the mountain and it defintiely one of the ones i want to see.

know what sucks. The last leg of your 26 hour travel day getting diverted to Tulsa due to weather. Hour 31 and counting with no sleep.

Trip was awesome and I'll recap with pics.
