Well...I did it. I spent $300 on a new area rug for my Daughters room and threw out $300 worth of junk she had collected. The old carpet was 10 years old as we had it put in before she was born. It was a shade of pink.

Her new theme is violets and purples and lime green etc.

Her Mother and Mother's Best Friend had painted and done little small touches a year ago but the pink carpet was still in there.

Since there was nice hardwoods under the old rug, I pulled everything up (Tack Strips and pad included) and then cleaned the floor. I sprayed around the edges of the room with insect killer earlier today before we went shopping for the carpet.

It's down now and the room is mostly back in order.

Now the rest of the house needs TLC as I pulled all her stuff into the living room. That will have to wait until tomorrow. I'm beat.

Here's a few pics.

I'm guessing she picked the color. :)

Good job, bud. I hope she appreciates her pa's hard effort.

She definitely picked the color...lol

I guarantee she appreciates my hard work.

I am "THE COOLEST DAD IN THE WORLD" right now. :D

Thanks 12.

I saw only one OU thing in that room. I am reporting you to CPS!

There is an OU license plate above the windows.

Also...what you didn't see...

9 boxes of stuff she is going through as we speak.

Yes...there have been some tears since I took the pics.

I told her to make those 9 bags disappear or go into the trash or a garage sale pile by 10 pm tonight and she won't be grounded for the rest of the week. Since she messed up in school...she's grounded.

I told her if I found ONE item stuffed under her bed or in another closet in another room she would stay grounded for the rest of the week. She has had friends calling her and knocking on the door since Thursday. I won't even let them talk to her. The room project was a good way of keeping her busy, keeping me busy so she doesn't drive me crazy and showing her I love her even when she messes up.

There are plenty of OU items that will be kept...I won't let her throw them out. I saw the 2000 MNC FEDX Beanie Bear awhile ago. There are Top Dawgs and other stuff too.

I'm going to go to Lowes and get her some storage containers for under her bed too. I'm not heartless. :D

Here's some pics after I brought ALL her stuff back into her room for her to sort. :D

As I was taking these two she said..."Dad! You better not be putting those on the Internet!".

Opps. :D

I'll be darned....

She's got it down to 3 sacks.

1) Keep
2) Garage Sale
3) Trash

She's almost there.

I heard in there singing away like one the Seven Dwarves whistling while they work.
