I now have it from two three sources close to senior Republicans that they have video dynamite–Michelle Obama railing against “whitey” at Jeremiah Wright’s church. Republicans may have a lousy record when it comes to the economy and the management of the war in Iraq, but they are hell on wheels when it comes to opposition research. Someone took the chance and started reviewing the recordings from services at Jeremiah Wright’s United Church of Christ. Holy smoke!! I am told there is a clip that is being held for the fall to drop at the appropriate time. The last thing Barack and Michelle need is a new clip that raises further questions about her judgment and temperament. Here’s what the Republicans are currently using in Tennessee:

When the ugly video tapes about Jeremiah Wright’s racist ravings first broke Barack Obama told us he could no more disown Jeremiah Wright than his own Grandmother. Well, we all know how that turned out. So will Barack stand by Michelle when the tape emerges of her verbally attacking “whitey?” Republicans, who are otherwise gloomy about prospects in November, recognize that this recording will create real problems for Barack and give them a shot at the White House. It is their October surprise.

Does Barack have an obligation to tell the Democrats, super delegates in particular, about this tape? Did Barack and his campaign do their basic homework and identify this tape as a potential problem? And, more importantly, do they have a copy? Probably better to deal with this issue before the convention rather than wait for October. What do you think?

Doesn't make you a little nervous to have a president who used to "hate whitey" to get elected to congress, but then turns around and states he disagrees with that philosophy to get elected president? What is Obama's temperment (or his wife's) has changed (if this is more than speculation) in the last two years? I am fine voting for a black president. In fact, if everything else was equal and it was between a white president and a black president, I would vote for the black president just to get it over with so our nation could move forward regarding race relations, and show the rest of the world that we are not as narrow minded as CNN or MSNBC paints us; however, I'm not going to just vote a black president in based off the color of their skin.

Yep. Knew that; however, by PC definition, as long as your are a % minority of any minority, you still get to count yourself as that minority. It used to be a bad thing (see some of my previous posts on this subject) to be a minority. In 2008 it's a good thing. In 2008, being a minority will open a lot of doors for you that would not otherwise be opened to you. I just hope it's still the case when being a "caucasian american" is a minority, that I have the same opportunties. That's what I am saying. Let's just get it over with (if it's not political suicide) and get all of this racial stuff behind us. I'm third generation Irish on my father's side. I actually have some indian in me on my mother's side, but my ancestors hid it, so you don't get credit for it. I understand all that "poor, down trodden, let's make reparations through social programs, and a 'hand up' legislated" program.

All I want to know is how much is enough, and where is the finish line? I hate government programs that are started and then never die because they develop their own frickin' heartbeat, and they actually have more "non-downtrodden" on the payroll due to all the beauracratic red tape.

Personally, I've traced my family tree and none of my ancestors on my mother's side ever owned one slave. Do I get a tax break? :D

Never said it did, just that's the ball game.

I for one think McCain will be a great President because he isn't far right politically or socially but also understands international politics far better than anyone else left in the race, not because he's a Republican.

I think Barrack would be a poor President because his ideas seem naive and unoriginal. Plus, when we're in a global war on terror and nuclear weapons are being developed everywhere, I just don't think it's time to have a Prez with training wheels.

This horsesh!t reminds me of the sniffers I work with that hit the fan over the content of a movie two months before it was released because it supposedly had a story line that ended with “children killing god”. First, who cares? It’s a movie. There are certainly movies with worse content than that floating around in people’s closets. Second and also in the case of this red herring, no one has seen it. This is where politically stupidity converges and makes a stereo stink. I think it’s ludicrous to react to something you haven’t seen therefore, possibly, may not exist. On the other hand, I’m an azz if I think proven misdeeds or even ones admitted to by the current POTUS should’ve mattered to voters in 2000 and 2008. This is what politics has squeezed out of its bunghole because of what we as citizens expect of candidates. It doesn’t matter whether the skeleton is real or perceived, just that it is there and can be latched onto by the other side. I would say the '93 budget and gov't backing of the internets turned out ok. Also, if you think the status quo is hunky-dorey vote McCain, but don't sell me on Republicans as the wave of the future, because for 8 years the executive and for 4 of that they've controlled all three branches of government and did a **** poor job.
