I don't post much about my personal life on here, but i have to share this; my wife has an aunt that's 95 years old, and she went to assisted living(quite reluctantly i might add) back in 2002; after a while and her memory fading she came to accept that was her home and thankfully all the confused phone calls stopped a couple of years later; now, after christmas, the family decided she needed a nursing home(she bascially has alzheimer's), so they found a nice one in Broken Arrow to put her in. To shorten this story, she's been in there 4 months and has lost about 40 pounds and is just a shell of her self; it's so hard and sad to see her like this, and my wife is dealing with it pretty good but i'm afraid she is in denial.
My wife's real mom died when she was only 2, so for 37 years of her life Aunt Mary has been her mom; she has been a wonderful help to both Lori and Lori's father when he was alive, and her generosity has enabled Lori, Conner, and I and Lori's siblings to have a few more things that they may not have had in the past.
She's been in my family for 20 years and didn't quite know what to make of me when i first came to their house with my long hair and mustache, but over the years she grew to accept and love me as a family member and adores my son.
Anyway, we've been expecting the worst for the last couple of days, but so far she is hanging on, but all of us know it won't be much longer; please everyone watch over my wife and her family during this trying eveny; her aunt's name is Mary Lee Hunter and she's from Bartlesville but is living out her last days in Broken Arrow; god bless you all and please hug your loved ones tonight :(
