Arnold at home in 2002

He could bust a rhyme with the best of 'em. Rest well and Hoop de Doo.

In an ironic twist of fate, the world made him go away.

"Oliver Wendell Douglas" was played by Eddie Albert. The country singer was Eddy Arnold.

Nope, I looked it up. That would be Eddie Albert (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddie_Albert), and yes he's dead. Arnold was the pig.
How do I know all of this? I even know the theme song, but I've never watched Green Acres.

Odd, Eddie Albert was 89 when he died. Coincidence? I think not!

This has been a total thread jack, but Green Acres Eddie was awarded the Bronze Star for his actions during WWII. As a landing ship pilot, he rescued several hundred wounded Marines while under heavy enemy machine-gun fire.
I heard a rumor he was buried out by Tahlequah somewhere but I never saw any proof.
He and Wilbur had a magical on-screen chemistry.

He was 99.
He smashed his 'Vett into a train doing well over 100 mph.
