I just read that the National Thoroughbred Racing Association ("NTRA") has just issued new requirements for three year old thoroughbred horses competing in Class 1 events.
With the tragic loss of Barbaro and the more recent tragic loss of Eight Belles, and in response to apparently well funded sources who sympathesize with PETA, the NTRA is now requiring that all three year old thoroughbreds be measured using circumference measuring gages and that the horses' ankles must exceed the circumference of Hillary R. Clinton's ankles.
