I saw one go down while playing Mohawk or Lake Yahola in Tulsa. Later found out it was some Arab dudes and a chick flying to Vegas, had engine problems. They survived.

Actually, up here, people use the golf courses in the winter for cross country skiing.

Agreed. It is perfectly safe to land an airplane off-airport under the right circumstances, but even if that was true in this case, this guy failed the "stupid idjit" test.
