We checked out some railguns that UT was working on when we were down there for an ASME student conference way back in the day ('90? '91?). Way cool. I think they were doing the research for the Army and/or Navy.

I sooo wanted to put one on the underside of my car after that for all the goobers that get in my way. ;)
