I caught an early screening of "The Dark Knight" yesterday evening.

"Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that's not an overstatement). It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and ****, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. ****ing flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece."~Kevin Smith

That's a pretty nice review coming from a comic book guy like Smith.

For me, that honor goes to Star Wars: TPM. We all know how that turned out. :(

I think 300 takes the cake for me, I was so jacked up to see that movie...im not much of a comic book fan but I am pretty pumped for this movie as well, it is going to be bad *** since it is a Frank Miller adaptation

With me ****ting all over myself and throwing up because I got food poisoning about 1 hour before I was supposed to go get in line wif my peeps for the midnight screening. That was fun.

And yeah, TPM is easily the most anticipated movie of the last decade(+) for fanboys.

Click around and you should be able to see a new trailer from Dominos. I have pretty much been jacked about this movie for going on 6 months now. (As you can see from my avatar) Reviewers are calling this the best sequel of this genre. Better than Empire Strikes Back. I will be there with bells on July 17th at 12:01am.

IBTD...as I watched that movie back in '01 and, to this day, I still don't understand what it was about.

Its point was to show how a psychopath thinks and works and what little OCD things like someone else having nicer biz cards can trigger a rage

My Opinion Matters

Did you miss the part where he wasn't a serial killer at all? The movie is a very, very dark satire.

I heard Heath Ledger did amazing in his movie. I also heard that in preparation for the role of the joker, he lived by himself in a hotel room for 2 months to maybe get a little on the crazy-ish side.

I hope Ledger is all he's cracked up to be in this flick, but so far from the previews, he seems like the "Brokeback" Joker. Hope I'm wrong. I'm still partial to Michael Keaton as being the true Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Jack Nicholson totally pwn3d that role...but I'll give HL the benefit of the doubt since he's dead.

This is stupid, completely unoriginal, and makes no sense

Christian Bale is by far a better Batman, not even close!

Uuhhh. I disagree. Bale seemed to one-sided. Dark-sided. Keaton captured the Playboy and the Badboy perfectly. I like Bale, but I'll have to watch him a few more times.

The Joker comment: "Completely unoriginal, makes no sense,...blah blah blah..."

I thought in the previews it wasn't convincing. It's my opinion. He sounded effiminate. Again, my opinion.

Wait till I and YOU watch the flick before you start freaking out.

Well you answered it right there though, these versions of Batman are meant to be more dark and he plays it perfectly

I hope Bale sticks with it.

Micheal Caine and Morgan Freeman also help keep this run of Batman alive IMO.

Caine and Freeman did a short interview on the Today show the other morning and both agreed that Ledger was amazing as the Joker and should get an Oscar.

Caine said he could be talking to him one moment and they would come for Keith and he would switch into gear and become one hellofa scary sumbeach.

I might change my mind because of Caine and Freeman's remarks and actually go see it in the theatre.
