Mind you, the snow was gone and it was 60 yesterday.

We're supposed to get another 15 inches tonight.

I'm going up there in July. It had better not be like that then, or I will never forgive you. ;)

A visit to Mike is definitely on my "must do" list.

I want to go in the winter and see the northern lights and see like real snow for the first time in several decades.

Summer would be great too. The furtherest north I've ever been is Scotland. I remember going back to my hotel room at 4am and the sun was already coming up. I was like, whoa, and I'm not even really fully drunk yet.

Or exiting a bar after several hours of heavy drinking at 10-11pm and like whoa the sun hasn't even set yet. Let's go back in and drink some more.

And, the shadows are all strange and slanted. It seems so weird like the sun is really fully there like during a solar eclipse.

In Thailand, I get sunrise and sunset year round at 6-6:30.

The only part of living there I wouldn't like is probably riding a bike to work each day wouldn't be as much fun.

i hear you. Scotland is as far north for me as well. hell, they start teeing people off the Old Course at St. Andrews at like 5:00 AM. it freaked me out several times to get up to urinate at 4:30 and you could see the coming of dawn....you know, when you can just tell because the sky is changing ever so slightly.

As a counter-argument for global warming, there is this...

Let's heat this bitch up for the sake of our Alaskan neighbors. I'm letting my car idle in the driveway right now. Just trying to do my part.

Woodstove.

It'd be one heck of a lot more fun if it didn't last for six months out of the year. Seriously-I like living up here a lot, but this winter has really taken it out of me.

It didn't help that because it was so nice when I left for work and it was 60 the day before that I didn't wear a coat and my ice scraper was in the storage closet.

So I whipped brodies through the parking lot until the snow fell off of the car.
