It looks like I'll be at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Fest on Saturday. At opposite ends of the grounds and performing at the same time will be Billy Joel and O.A.R.
I've just heard snippets of O.A.R. but they sound pretty durn good. Billy Joel is a big name, and I've hear lots of his tunes over the years. He's more than a "meh" but not much, based only on what I've heard on the radio and stuff.
SO TELL ME...Which one should I choose, and why?

So you asking if you should see a Pop Music Legend, or the Junior Varsity Dave Matthews Band?

Um. Neither. You're at fricking Jazzfest, there has to be something better around.

I really go only for the food. :D

BTW, last year I asked a similar question, 'cept the choices were Norah Jones and Rod Stewart. Neither one turned out to be all that good. I started with Norah, but her total "laidbackedness" just didn't seem right for the noisy & crowded outdoor setting. She looked good, but her set sounded like just one looooooong sloooooow song. So I schlepped all the way across the yard to Rod's stage, where some ingenue chick was doing most of the singing. I never figured that deal out. Turns out the best performer I heard that was - believe it or not - Johnny Rivers. I never realized he had so many hits back in the day, and he looked great and was having fun. Lots of the crowd, (including me) knew all the words to "Secret Agent Man." So you never know what you're gonna get.

Billy Joel is one of my favorite performers. Go there, YWIA. He is amazing live. I am with the above though, stay off the roads while he is there though!
