I ordered four BFGoodrich 33x12.5xR15 MT tires from a place in Arkansas. Fed Ex managed to deliever 3 of the 4 and they don't know where the 4th one is.

If it doesn't show up in a day or two I am going to file a claim. Has anyone delt with their claims process? Should I file the claim for the packaged amount? I got a deal on the tires since I bought a set of 4, if I bought one seperately it would be much higher.

I believe the shipper is responsible for filing the claim. You should contact the tire person first.

They lose stuff all the time. Seriously they are truly awful. We have a corporate account and I get no less that two or three complaints a day about something a customer was shorted, lost, or damaged.

I HATE FED EX!

Wow that sucks. They are based out of Arkansas. I will give it a day then file a claim.

This is the first time I have lost anything via a shipper. How do you lose a tire?

What's the replacement value on THAT?

Sorry for your loss.

He showed up eventually. We weren't upset because my Uncle was the kind of guy who would have thought get lost on the way to the funeral was hilarious. The only downside was that he wasn't there when we put on the Nebraska tunnel walk music + fight song and drank beer after the funeral.

My company ships out about 10 boxes a day and receives about the same number using a FedEx corporate account. I think they've lost exactly one box in the 9+ years I've been here.

I've never lost anything via FedEx... or any other shipper for that matter. Or the postal service. Never had my luggage lost either.

I'm just asking for trouble with that last one. :O

no kidding. i've had a couple bags go to the void. last december i had 15 lbs of frozen handmade ravioli in my bag that while i flew from Denver to OKC, the bag flew from Denver to O'Hare.

now, before you call me stupid. frozen fresh pasta has about a 8 hour stay good point which is more than enough in a cold *** baggage compartment for an 80 minute flight with an hour bookended on either end to handling, pick up, etc.

turned out i worked my *** off and talked the United people at O'Hare (it was December) to leave my bag outside in the sub freezing temps instead of in the heated storage room....and United carried the water and got it to Norman without any problems the next day. the information on the United website was always inaccurate and trying to talk to someone on the phone was a 45 minutes wait. some of the pasta dried out, but i was impressed. they made the effort.

Was there a declared value on the tires, say more than $100?

I have a question. Were the tires cheaper that way or was it a selection issue? The reason I ask is, it just seems to me a guy could go to a tire store and tell them what you want, show them the ad, and give them a chance to match the price.

I paid $791 for 4 shipped on the interweb. Big O's here was going to charge me $229 a tire.

I did find later a place that was selling them for $189 + tax. Next time I will pay a bit more and avoid the hassle.

i got my last tires from LWM :( (truck)

before that i paid < $500 for 4 225/45 r17 tires, mounted, balanced, with an alignment from the dealership (car)

i couldn't hardly beat that deal online if it didn't include the alignment...

of course, not having to lug your tires somewhere to have them mounted and balanced is pretty nice too

A shipping company (won't mention name) dropped a VERY expensive image generator. Mostly destroyed the gutz.
Claim will probably be around 100K since it wasn't totally destroyed.
