Does Tulsa not have a major UPS center?

The reason I ask is that a lot of my amazon orders go Tulsa-OKC-Omaha-Me. I don't understand why amazon would ship out of Tulsa if they route everything through OKC anyway. Why not have your facility in OKC if you are Amazon?

Amazon doesn't have a facility in either city AFAIK, but Tulsa does have a UPS distribution center.

It just seems strange that everything gets run through OKC as well, when stuff shipped from other locations tend to go straight to Omaha.

Maybe it's due to the highway structure? There aren't any major highways to Omaha from Tulsa, I believe.

EDIT: Well, I guess you could take 44 -> 69 in KC, then 29 out of there, but I'm not sure how truck drivers like those smaller highways. And technically, 75 goes all the way there, but it gets tiny.

OKC may be a hub for this region. There is an 757 that leaves KOKC every night around 9 pm. Maybe everything from Tulsy get's trucked or puddle jumped to OKC for distribution.

OKC is the hub for this area, the reason things go Tulsa-OKC is because the amazon fullfilment center is in Coffeyville, Kansas (About 70 miles from Tulsa).

why would it come South from Coffeeville though?

i would have figured it had something to do with I-35

When I see Coffeyville in the tracking, it is usually routed through Lenexa.

OKC pays UPS extra for the Tulsa packages so they can claim OKC > Tulsa.
