Well yes, Police Academy is about as franchise as you can get. Sorry for the glaring oversight and thanks for your comments STEP, Glad to see you don't spend all your time in the arcade! ;)

You missed the Naked Gun series, even though I wouldn't have voted for it.

Too many of those "franchises" should have been stopped after the first one.

Naked Gun. It was one of those I didn't write down fast enough before I forgot it. Anything that had OJ and Priscilla Presley in it should be disqualified anyway! ;) Thanks for your comments.

Blues Brothers shouldn't have ever had a sequel. Nothing could touch the original.
My favorite quote of the movie was from Blue Lou Marini... "Chicken Wire?" Lou was so eloquent in this flick!

i'll go with LOTR. i mean, nerding out, i hated the idea that these were being made. but, they were really well done.

books i read in middle school, and a couple times after. and i loved LZ IV. they was mostly awesome. i'm not a Star Wars or Potter geek. i was into Star Wars, when i was 13. it's not a feature of my adulthood.

I might be showing my age here but I see the Charlie Chan & Sherlock Holmes series listed but omitted are the old Bob Hope/Bing Crosby "Road" movies and "The Thin Man" movies.

the real answer here is the Antione Doinel cycle by Francois Truffault.

but it's all about freedom fries and "wolverines".

the "thin man" movies suck and are sad in terms of Dashiel Hammett's noir classic novel.

I listed the Thin Man movies. I omitted the road movies cause in my opinion, they sucked. Bing was only good when he played a priest.

i love how the Potter people are saying they "aren't geeks".

it's a book series about wizards, little boys with special powers and some "sweet sixteen" type stuff.

If they wouldnt have made the one with Clooney, or if this would have been made after The Dark Knight comes out, Batman would have gotten my vote. But for now, John McClane pwns all, with Jason Bourne and Marty McFly coming in second and third.

Now that I think about it, the Bourne series is one of the few where all 3 are awesome. Usually you get a let down in a series(Godfather 3), but all 3 of the Bournes are on my top 10 list of best movies of the decade.

Some of those I don't know if I can vote for. Take Star Trek, for instance. A few of those movies (I'm looking at you, Wrath of Khan and Undiscovered Country) are really damn good movies. But some of them (I'm looking at you now, Final Frontier and Insurrection) deserve everything the Mystery Science Theater guys could throw at them.

Same problem for Star Wars. And Batman. And DEFINITELY Ghostbusters. Numba.2 sucked hard.

On the subject of old school, where are the "Ma and Pa Kettle" and "Francis the Talking Mule" movies on this list? Not to mention the Abbott and Costello movies, "Abbott and Costello Meets the Mummy," etc.
