Just made my reservations. The price has gone up about $150 for two since late February. I decided to go ahead and book before it gets any higher, and just hope I can get game tickets.

I was wearing my OU sweatshirt to work yesterday and some UDub geezer said "Oh, Oklahoma - remember that '85 Orange Bowl?? That was a damn fine game!"

Ok, could not wait for a reply and booked 2 nights a the Watertown Hotel.

On the Watertown Hotel site they say it's 1 mile form the statium. So a easy walk.

We're staying at the University Inn - 3 blocks from the University, free shuttles to downtown, and the rate was very good. The reveiws all gave it a 4.7 out of 5 rating.

Yes. He's been there a couple of years and has about 10 friends from Oklahoma that are going to the game also.

Looks like a nice hotel also Yukonsooner. If the University of Washington is 3 blocks away then you are about 1 mile form the studium such as we are at the Watertown Hotel . The question I have is how far is the airport from the hotels? Love to just taxi then use the loaner bicycles to tour some.

Well, since we live in the Seattle area, we have our tickets on order and will be going. There are many talkin trash to my hubby on this game. It should be interesting.

I hate working weekends, but a just had to take my customer in Seattle to this game. I was very surprized to find (2) 50-yard line tickets on StubHub for $450. These are row "D" which I hope is the 4th row from the field.

I was so stunned to see these for that price that I bought them as quickly as possible, knowing comparable tickets in Norman would probably be 3 or 4 times that price. I haven't yet investigated, but I'm hoping the seller made them available at that price because they are on the "visitor" side of the field!

I haven't got the greatest job in the world, but getting paid to entertain a customer like this reminds me to count my lucky stars. Life is good!

BTW, my seats are in section 24 - how can I figure out if these are the home or visitor side of the field?

thanks in advance

My father in-law is a u-dub fan his whole life, and I took him to Norman for our game there so he's taking me to WA. He told me not to expect the kind of hospitality that he received, he said u dub fans are *******s, which living in pac 10 country I think the entire conference is full of ****ty fans.

Collier11
4/16/2008, 03:53 PM
I wouldn't say the majority, but the Pac 10 does have a plethora of fans who dont have a clue about football or tradition and are mega snobs to say the least

I sure hope they are better than the fans were in Eugene.

If my memories from the Orange Bowl game are still valid, U-Dub fans are among the worst I've encountered.

On the other hand, all the U-Dub folks I've ever worked with were great, so who knows?

enjoy the city of seattle, you'll love it. but expect to be disappointed in the stadium. Great location right by the lake, but the stadium itself is horrible. no one sits in the first ten rows because you can't see, and with the track you feel like you're ten miles from the game.

Wife and I went to the OU/uo in Eugene game and we treated like guest. I like the fans, damn that was a loud place, but we all know what happend and I still can not forgive the rifs. NEVER!

Gotta agree. Except for one drunk guy that got ****ed we did the "O" with the finger in the air on kickoffs, the rest of the UO fans we sat with were very friendly and gracious. They even got rid of the obnoxious guy pretty quick.

But yeah, hope for a better outcome on the game. We need to do a run down on the proposed refs before the game just to let them know we are watching them... ;)

I also have to stick up for the Oregon fans. My 60 year old mother and her traveling girlfriend had a good time and were treated well (save for Gordon Reise, et al.). They rode a shuttle to and from the game with largely the same occupants. One woman was in the pressbox and even whispered in hushed tones that the Sooners had won the game.

The Oregon and Washington fans that made it to Norman in the past few years were also very cordial (I'm in section 34--close to the opposition). I would hope that the Sonics happenings won't affect anyone's enjoyment of a great non-conference matchup.

PDX is correct. Outside of the stadium sitting lakeside, the stadium is the worst in the Pac 10 and perhaps the country. Section 24 is on the OU side. I would be concerned with the seats at the 50 yd line in any rows up to E because they are restricted view up to E.

I bought my flight tix last week after watching the price go up $90 in a day. Does anyone have access to reasonably priced game tix not going through brokers?

Born and raised in Sea-Town about 4 miles from the stadium.

The airport in Seattle (Sea-Tac) is about a 30 minute drive from the campus area with standard traffic. The stadium itself sits right on the water but the rest of the campus is up a hill from there. Its a really nice campus, just pretty big plus there's approximately a 100% the weather will be awful.

As far as tourist stuff goes, definitely see the Pike Place Market. Its a can't miss. The Space Needle and Seattle Center area are also big draws.

I know the Silver Cloud Inn and Travel Lodge (both on 25th Ave) are within easy walking distance to the stadium. It'll be temping, but DO NOT park in the University Village shopping area. The yuppies are notorious for putting the sting on people parking their cars there for the game. You'll probably want to try to park someplace relatively far away and walk or take the metro bus to the game unless you like sitting in your car for a long time because with all the water hazards and terrain features the roads around the stadium are really condensed.

Hope I helped. I also hope there's a big contingent for me to call on because I'll definitely be in the area at the local frat boy joints talking trash all weekend, might even make it to the game.

Booked my flight on Continental via Houston. The direct on American from Austin was twice as expensive. Staying at the Hotel Andra downtown close to everything.

StubHub has plenty of tickets, but maybe I should wait until the OU ticket office releases seats? Does anyone know what the OU sections are?
