Attention mods in charge of search...

How come most of the time when I search, I only get results from 12/31/2006 and before.

It didn't happen on this search, but I'm trying to find my thread about my Chicago trip and can't find it. I know I used the word Chicago in the initial post, but the thread doesn't come up. IT finds all post containing chicago going back to 3/28/2008 then just skips to 10/2006. Where are all the posts in between. I could really use some of the info in that thread.

I wonder why I can't do the same thing using my screename and a qualifier word like "Chicago". I'm not always gonna know who started a thread.

Hmm. Is search case sensitive (chicago vs. Chicago)? And I wonder if it matters that you didn't highlight 'South Oval' as the forum to search? I mean, it's searching all forums and should still find it but...

I'm really just guessing on all that. Might test it out and see.

Yeah it did that to me too the other day when I was searching for an old (instead of starting a new) Obama/Clinton thread. Only showed some really old ****.

It does it to everyone, I think. If you do a really basic search it seems to work. Faster these days, even. But if you use lots of search parameters it seems to have trouble with it.

I searched just for "Sweeny" looking for anything on Sweeny Todd since we saw it this weekend and it only gave me three threads from 2006. It's like it's not searching 1/1/2007 and later on some specific searches. Seems to be in line with when we "fixed" search. :D

Seems to happen more when you search on a keyword, huh? I know jkm and Beano have been busting their ever-lovin' humps since the upgrade tweaking stuff and fixing stuff. Maybe when they get a little breathing room we can ask one of them to check it out.

Why would you want to search, anyway? Just start another thread like everyone else does. :D

it kept erroring out as it got closer to the present day. its tough to figure out exactly where after the thing runs for 10 hours...
