I remember that game well. Look at the related videos on this link. One will show von Schaumman directing the Ohio State crowd in Block That Kick.

greg pruitt is so underrated, i think. he was sick. he had it all. averaged almost 9 yards a carry as a senior.

pretty amazing we beat the Pokes that year. Is that Stillwater High's stadium? maybe Blackwell HS?

#12. Jon Harrison. Senior, 5'9" 157' Split-End from Cooper High School in Abilene, Texas. I'd like to thank the good people at SoonerStats.com.

I kind of wish they had kept the track and those high-school like bleachers instead of the five-feet from the sidelines to the wall like they have now. Also, looked like OSU was one of the rare teams still playing on grass, as pretty much everybody else switched to Astroturf, which was all the rage in those days.

It was as if Gregg broke the sound barrier just as he caught the pitchout.
The T-shirt I had as a teeneager summed it up.
"Hello" on the front.
"Goodbye" on the back. Man that would be a collector's item. I ruined mine painting a house for extra cash in the summer of 1973. I should kick my own azz.

Check out the Pruitt run at the 55 second mark; he just flat out blows away 3 guys that had the angle on him; Pruitt was incredible. Also, if OU's defense would have been as good as the 72 defense, this team would have been recognized as one of the top 3 teams in college history, if not the best

The 71 group was just one non-call from being the best of the Century. They are still considered one of the best ever.
