in Kansas.

Witch-a-tittay actually.

My fine young nephew/godson is taking his first Holy Communion today. We're bringing Sooner gear prezzies. Even <gasp> Sooner Crocs. Note: he's a nine year old boy so Crocs are not inappropriate.

Anyhoo, see you guys after the bash to follow.

We got him all First Communion-ed. I took this with a camera phone. He's the handsome young sprout on the back row of kids in the red necktie. St Francis of Assisi parish in ICT.

You can say that again. Speshuly last night. They got this hip hop "Rock Chalk Jayhawk" song in heavy rotation on all the radio stations regardless of genre.

They're fired-up! I just wonder if they got anything left to pour on Memphis.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. Our Catholic brethren are amusing. On the way out of the service on Saturday, the ushers actually handed out little slips of paper reminding everyone that since the Mass ended before 4pm, everyone still had to attend Mass, either Saturday evening or Sunday in order to fulfill their weekly obligation. Mind you, this was after sitting through an hour and a half divine service that ended at 2:30pm.

Frankly, this sort of legalistic form over substance stuff is what prompted my forebears to kick over the traces and turn Protestant.:D
