...if you haven't, don't sweat it. I can report there ain't much there. 'less you like chicken planks and tater wedges from the Country Junction quicky-stop. Oh, they have Dr. Pepper in glass bottles. So they have that going for them. Which is nice.

carry on.

You should see their basketball gym. Crackerbox! They have dugouts for benches. Being from Bluejacket, OK (even smaller than Colcord), I've had the pleasure of playing basketball in a few gyms much like it.

I've been there. When I was still living in Tulsa, I spent a lot of time fishing and floating on Flint Creek and the Illinois River.

No, but I've been to (and stayed at) The Colcord in downtown OKC.

Hope that helps.

I think we played a high school baseball game there. Don't know if it's still that way, but I believe Colcord's field had a building about 220 ft away in right field - you got a home run by hitting the ball on top of the building.

I dated a gal from Ringling in college. She was a purtty thing, but a tad psycho.

If you came from a town of 13 with a busted as$ circus sign as you entered the town you'd prolly be psycho too... :D

Been to Shidler too! Talk about in the middle of nowhere! That was probably one of the coldest football games I've ever been at and there's not a tree in sight to shield you from the wind out there.

So I looked on Wikipedia, and Colcord is 3x larger than the town I went to school in, and 16x bigger than the town I lived closest too. I think y'all need to readjust what you think is a mapdot.

Nope Slapout's in God's country, the OK panhandle. It's on the way to Hooker and Beaver. I love those towns. Anyone ever get a Hooker Advance (newspaper)or go to Hooker Hardware? How about played that American legion baseball powerhouse, the Hooker Horneytoads. When I lived west of Hooker I had to go to Hooker to get to Beaver. :D

Is 819 that far off for the population of Colcord?

It's sad because I live right by all these towns that nobody has heard of. Lost City? It's like a group of houses and they're all junk yards. Oaks? Twin Oaks? Wouldn't go there at night it's so far off in the woods. Hulburt? I love those speed traps. So many to name off.
