Job question

I need to get a job. Nothing big. Im looking for 2-3 nights a week. Just so I can have some pocket money to tide me over until I can leave, etc.

When I go in to apply, should I be up front and tell them I will be leaving soon? Or should I forget to mention that?

I second the idea of going to a temp agency. You won't engender any good will by applying for a regular job and then quitting abruptly just a month later.

i have an Italian friend/chef who owns his own restaurant and is looking for a waitperson for 3-4 nights a week, tips are sort of collective (you'd make about 15$ an hour working 4-9 PM each night, about 75$ for 5 or so hours of work). Food is great. People are great, he and his wife run the joint. casual atmosphere. small Italian place, about 15 tables. fresh in-house pasta. great entrees, antipasti, desserts. LaVazza espresso.

however, it's in Boulder, Colorado.

edit: honesty is a virtue but you'll never get hired in the restaurant biz telling people you are gonna leave any time in the near future. unless they are desperate. which is 75% of the time not a place you want to work anyway. places that have high turnover, usually have it for a reason.

I vote don't tell. Just be a super employee while you are there (show up on time, have a great attitude). Good employees are a precious commodity. Once you find out when you are going to ship out, just give them two weeks notice (if possible).
