WEll, it appears that alot republicans turning out to vote for Hillary in the primaries is having as interesting side effect.

Turns out down here in texas at least two pubs who switched to Hillary for a day and caucused for her were actually selected to go to the State Democratic convention as delegates for her.

In Ohio they are trying to investigate Rush Limbaugh for voting fraud bt encourageing pubs to switch for a day to keep hillary in the race and create as much chaos as possible. Looks as if its working. Too funny.

You gotta love politics, even if politcians aren't particularly lovable.

The way I see it, if they want to clamp down on this sort of thing, they should juts have closed primaries like we do here in Oklahoma.

Otherwise, "game on" mofo!

Further, I doubt anyone broke any law merely by "inciting" people to game the system. It ain't like Limbaugh actually facilitated the alleged fraud. He just encouraged people to use the kooky rules as a weapon against the donks to prolong the bloodletting between HRC and BHO.

I know Oklahoma has had its share of political shadyness, but our voting/election system should be a model for the rest of the country, IMO. The balloting system is so straightforward, with paper backup PLUS electronic tabulating, and the primary system is closed.

WTF good comes from an open primary system? I've never understood it.

Rush makes his living off of "Liberal Whackos", yet he uses his power and influence on the air to educate and insinuate that non-democrats should go to the polls and upset the DNC's current struggle to elect a candidate to run against McCain, a candidate who Rush will support....

Pretty dispicable IMO.

He must be back on the painkillers.

I have long thought the OK ballot system is excellent, less prone to fraud and from a Human Factors/Ergonomics standpoint is about perfect. You have a visual cue to show the intended action, there is little chance of error (either in a mis-mark or a mis-interpretation during audit), it is electronically read and tabulated, if mis-marked, the ballot is placed aside or destroyed, leaving an audit trail and is its own backup for manual tallies. Why this isn't the national standard, I don't know. Actually, I do, follow the money.

I do have to laugh at the repub texans going to the convention, one from Galveston. Were they not queried by the caucus goers? But then again, our 2-step caucus was so misrun and botched, I'm not surprised the whole thing wasn't cancelled. The old guard pols thought they would keep power and side-step the local vote, they sorely misjudged...

Here's an idea, everyone register as independent, and the political parties will die.

RUSH LIMBAUGH is my clone!
3/28/2008, 10:39 AM
If a person wants to mess up the opposition party more than to select the candidate in your own party, all you ever have to do is register with that opposition party. Simple enough. It's been done for many years. This year, a critical mass has been achieved, I do believe.

The issue is perjury, not voter fraud. The Ohio ballots include a sworn statement about your intentions.

And Homey, Ohio is a closed primary system. That's why only people who registered Democrat got Democratic ballots.

And they let them register at the polling place?

Frozen Sooner

Yes. Both parties in Alaska have closed primaries and do the same.

Q. Do you support the Democratic party?
A. Yes.

I don't support any of the Democratic candidates in this in this particular election, but the party itself is fine by me.

All of this is nothing a good strong third party wouldn't fix. I've always wanted to be a Whig. Who's in on helping me get that banner fired up again?

So far as I know, the language is the same for both parties (with minor changes) in Ohio.

Enforceable or not, perjury is perjury. It's not a matter of legality or illegality (though perjury is a crime)-it's a matter of being willing to lie under oath.

I guess that's only important when it's about a dress and a cigar.

Well, for a few reasons:

Cooler name
Original party of Lincoln. I'm a fan, plus it's an opportunity to **** off SicEm.
I never agreed with the way the Federalists handled the Whiskey Rebellion.

Abe Lincoln, founder of the republican party, is rolling over in his grave... again.

BigRedJed
3/28/2008, 12:19 PM
I had a great, great, great....uncle who was a prominent Federalist, but he was out of the loop by the time of the Whiskey Rebellion, so he would probably be OK with my Whig stance.

If I were talking about the Republican Party, the word "party" in "party of Lincoln" would have been in caps. But just to be clear, the Republican Party, of which I'm a member, no longer resembles the Party of Lincoln. Which is a bad thing.

BigRedJed

That's fine, but he started out as a Whig, like I said. So there's no "rolling around in the grave." Or, put differently, I was right -- NEENER NEENER NEENER!!!

But if what he does backfires and gets that socialist b*tch elected to President, I will be one mad mofo.
