Since nothing exciting is really going on i thought this might make you feel a little better. All i can say is... karma? :O

Mountaineers' Devine, 3 others plead no contest to battery charges

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia running back Noel Devine was among four Mountaineers' football players to plead no contest to misdemeanor battery charges after being arrested Thursday.

Also arrested were defensive back Eain Smith, 19; cornerback Brantwon Bowser, 20; and running back/receiver Jockee Sanders, 19, the Morgantown Police Department said in a news release.

Noel Devine, who ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the Fiesta Bowl, was among four Mountaineer players arrested on Thursday.

Each player pleaded no contest in Morgantown Municipal Court, the police department said.

It was not immediately known whether the municipal court assessed any penalties against the players. A telephone message left Thursday night with the municipal court was not immediately returned.

Police said the charges stemmed from an altercation outside Club Z in Morgantown on Feb. 16 but did not provide details.

"Discipline with the situation has already been handled within the program," WVU football coach Bill Stewart said through a spokesman. He said he would have no further comment.

Last month, Stewart dismissed three other players charged with felony possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver.

West Virginia begins spring practice Friday.

Devine, a 20-year-old freshman, capped a stellar first season with West Virginia by running for 108 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-28 victory over Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl.

This is old news, isn't it? Or has Devine been arrested again.

I don't see anyone arresting him for the beating he gave OU.

WHERE'S OUR JUSTICE!

Why are we delighting in this dude making a huge mistake with his life?

I got that he made us look pretty stupid in the Fiesta Bowl, but that was just as much our fault as his.

I got nothing against the guy.

He reminds me a lot of Quentin Griffin.

He just made a poor choice.

Misdemeanor Battery...

It could be something as small as kicking dirt on someones new Doc Martens.

I'm glad its only a misdemeanor; the kid's got talent.

Hopefully, this serves as a wake-up call for him and this is as far down the road to football thuggery he goes.

It won't be the last, wasn't he in all kinds of trouble and pretty much untouchable by most schools in high school?

Ya, first time could be nothing. There is no pattern here. Similar to the "trouble" that Curtis Lofton got into.

Exactly. I don't see how anyone gets pleasure out of a kid potentially blowing an amazing opportunity. No matter what school he plays for.

Anything with the name "Club" and late night is a recipe for bad things happening...Just youthful stupidity, but WVU gains some good Fulmer points for this...

Trying to link karma with this because of his bowl performance is bad karma.
Someone better call the Karma Police.
