This is proving to be an awesome spring move by the coaches. Your two top RB's out for spring, your D just got walked on in the Fiasco bowl, you have a talented FB who could use some work with multiple touches. It's a win for everyone. Venables gets to ride his guys the entire spring about being more phyisical (Clapp taking both Box and Reynolds for a ride in the above link is freaking awesome). The message on both sides of the ball is clear - you want to play, you better be physical.

Clapp may or may not ever line up at TB this fall, but he'll be a better FB and we'll be a better team because of what he's doing this spring.

I can foresee a game where Clapp gets 20 carries in atleast one game, if we need to be super physical against a team that has alot of speed. There were games last year that we needed patrick to be a bulldozer and he couldnt provide that for us, so dont be surprised if Clapp has to carry the load one day.

There were games where even Chris Brown was shut down, and if you look at those highlights, Clapp is running over linebackers. The dude weighs 237 Lbs, and Chris Brown is like 190, Ill take the Clapp anyday.

This is awesome and from the way he's carrying the ball so far in practice, if he keeps this up, he can offer yet another way to mix in some new things. I'd love to see us hand the ball off to Clapp at this rate...even if he's lined up at FB and not RB. He's not scared to deliver the hits.

If he blocks half as good as he's ran then we should have a couple of thousand yard rushers and play action will work great.

Like Clapp needs people to hold for him. Hell he looks like a demolition derby truck out there knocking everyone on their azzes. If nothing else it's giving our D some great practice in needing to use fundamentals and wrap up.
