Air Force Investigates B-1 Bomber Collision

3:31 p.m. Guam - A board of officers will be investigating the collision of a B-1 Bomber with emergency vehicles at Andersen Air Force Base Friday.
Air Force spokesperson Capt. Joel Stark said the bomber was in transit from an airshow in Singapore and was headed to its home base at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota, when it landed at AAFB for an inflight emergency. He did not disclose the nature of the emergency, however.
Stark said the B-1 Bomber was on the taxiway when the incident occurred just after 12 p.m. There were no injuries reported since the crew of the aircraft had exited just before the aircraft rolled away. No injuries were also reported from the crew of the emergency vehicles. No munitions were onboard the aircraft, he added.
The bomber was extensively damaged from the collision, Stark confirmed. A B-1 Bomber is estimated to cost around $200 million.
