A nice read about "Fox" Fallon and his efforts at *gasp* doing things like scaling back troop levels in Iraq, focusing more on Afghanistan and actually talking with Iran.

I'm sure the hawks around here will deride him, but I wonder where we'd be if Bush had men like this advising him in the first place instead of those who were so eager to invade Iraq?

Fallon out.

As I was sitting at the kitchen table Sunday morning, drinking coffee and eating a bagel I thought to myself that this article wouldn't be good for his long term employment.

Fallon out.

Thank God. I couldn't stand him laughing at his own strategies.

In the article they used the term "Eager to please General David Petraeus".

I saw an interview, on CNN this morning I believe, with General Petraeus.

He was stating that we have helped Iraq step back from a Civil War and that if we don't continue this good work...they would easily slip right back into the throws of Civil War.

It's unfortunate that it seems to be the United States (mostly) that is responsible for making sure that there isn't a Civil War there.

If it's not such a bid deal to the rest of the World, you'd think that other Leaders in the World would be saying that Obama and his plans to leave in 16 months would be blamed for the loss of life that such a plan would surely accomplish.

Also, we lost another 8 of our boys in an ambush yesterday I believe.
