I survived the week in Ohio..mainly in the central western part of the state. Lots of cool little small towns, lots of great old architecture. Made me wish I had a digital camera to show you slappies pictures of some places. The two best were a Catholic Church in Celina, OH

the St. Charles Senior Living Community which is sponsored by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.

Neither picture really does justice, but they're the best ones available from the individual websites. And now I get to look forward to returning to Ohio to Grand Rapids, Findlay, and Paulding next week.

So what have you yahoos been guilty of while I've been away?

It's cool when you run into buildings like that.

You should make a Kramer Coffee table book once you get a camera.

I said new...you getting drunk is about as regular as SicEm screwing up something in a social setting while pining for SicEmEx and screwing up whatever car he happens to be driving that month. :P

Yeah, I'm being somewhat contracted out by my company to a pharmaceutical company for a giant project they're doing. This project they have has to be completed by the end of September. So I'm spending a lot of time out of state for the time being except for weekends, at this point it's various parts of Ohio to get their stuff done. Later in the year I'll be spending a week in the Chicago suburbs, and another week down the road in Wisconsin. There's a rumor that we may head out to Kansas City in midsummer, but that's just a rumor at this point.

It's really interesting to go into the small towns, even the ones that are still somewhat expanding to look at the architecture. A few of the locations I've been in (smaller pharmacies), have been in places like an old house, on the corner of a shopping area in the middle of downtown where everything is made of brick. It's also led to traveling down a lot of state roads where you pass all kinds of farm area and I think some of those older farmhouses rival towns for design and architecture. Back when buildings were built to withstand time, not just thrown together as quickly as possible to make a quick buck.
