It's a freaking miracle how some people make it through life on such little common sense.

I work with a guy that is about to go in for shoulder surgery. He's had shoulder problems for years and needs them both fixed. I get that. So he's talking about it today and says "I think I'll check with the Dr. and see if I can't just get them both done at the same time, that way I'm only out 6 weeks".

huh?

really? Spend a lot of time thinking that through? I wonder how people like this can even drive, much less be a functional human being.

Another guy I work with just wanted to encourage him to do it. "Yeah, tell that Dr. that you DEMAND he do them both at the same time".

heh.

I think you should encourage him. Then call him constantly during his recovery, asking if his nose itches...

How would he raise his hand if he knew the answer?

If it's for adhesive capsullitis, they could (but probably shouldn't) do them both at the same time. There isn't any incision and all they do is rip open all of the adhesions, inject some cortisone into the joint, ice down the shoulder and give you some pain pills.
I missed two days of work.

well he's scheduled a minimum of 4 weeks, So it doesn't sound like that adhesive stickalotus or whatever you just said.

never bet against the stupidity of people.

plus, six weeks sounds like bull****. I had mine done when I was 11 and was throwing curveballs in like 3 weeks.

yeah well, he IS near 50. Which makes it even MORE amazing that he thought doing both was a good idea...

Maybe he wants both of them done before summer, and doesn't mind being invalid for 6 weeks. Different situations for everyone.

My M-i-L had both knees replaced at the same time. It worked out great. She said if she wasn't going to be able to get around anyway if she did only 1, she'd rather be immobile only once.

OU4LIFE's only issue is with wiping, so I'm sure both legs is ok. :)

I never wipe. I just crap at the gym, and hop in the shower to rinse off.

Strangely enough, that is what was in my last Stumpy's Burger.

I'll tell you what will be in your NEXT Stumpy's burger, if you play your cards right, and are willing to pay a premium: Kobe beef.

That is all.
