Actually Ron, that pic is pretty damn accurate...just that I actually had 61 merit badges to go with my 8 Eagle palms.

My flight leaves San Anton in 3 hours, I had to leave the Missus yesterday and fly back down here just to turn around and fly out to Spokane today. (and yes Loyal, it's SERE).

This water survival stuff kicks ***! There's 31 of us in the group...6 butter bars, the rest enlisted. And guess who's in charge of the whole group? ;)

It's actually kinda weird going through a course where the INSTRUCTORS are calling me "sir." It's been the other way around ever since OTS.

The land portion begins tomorrow. But today, I get to be helevaced by a Huey...woo hoo, first chopper ride (and hopefully the last).

I know...but I'm definitely cutting back. That good enough?

Water survival is over. They dunked us in the faux chopper today...NOT fun if you're not expecting to be completely immersed. The real chopper was ok...except I rolled my ankle BAD when I was egressing it. All the melting snow made the field pretty soggy.

Land SERE starts tomorrow.
