So, someone give me 3 movies to watch as my next 3 Netflix rentals.
You suggest, and I shall rent. Serious suggestions ONLY!

What kind of movies you like?
Good question.

I like dramas especially of the mystery and/or political intrigue sort.
I like some action but not corny crap like anything with Segal in it.
Documentaries are always good.

War movies are probably 75% of what I watch so anything in that category.

I'm not huge on comedy, but I sometimes like a good a chuckle.

Hmm. I liked Beowulf ok. Michael Clayton is out, you'd probably dig that one.

Dude, The Last King of Scotland is out, that's probably good.

I'd suggest getting the Flight of the Conchords dvds, but I don't think they're our brand of humor.

I've seen the Bridge at Remagen 10 billion times, but its been a few years so that's a definite possibility.

Turd, do you mean "Stone Cold" the movie with Selleck in it? That doesn't look too bad actually so I'm going to put that one at the top of my list.

I own Tora! Tora! Tora! as well. I've seen and probably own every WWII movie ever made so it'll be hard to find one I haven't seen.

So, here's the list as it stands but it can change at any time between now and when they ship on Monday.

1. Stone Cold
2. Michael Clayton (I had forgotten about that one and want to see it)
3. Last King of Scotland

I do not...Sweed Joe Hanson....Sweed and Joe Hanson were two characters in Hang'm High, and "Sweed Joe Hanson" was in Heartbreak Ridge.....I just watched Hang'm the other night. I hadn't seen it since I was about 13 and happen to catch that.....pretty neat.

:D

i watched Yojimbo and Fistful of Dollars on back to back nights the other week. pretty cool. Hidden Fortress is where to go after Seven Samurai, IMO. but, Yojimbo is good. i like Kurosawa's "noir" stuff like Drunken Angel and High and Low, the Bad Sleep Well. Stray Dog is pretty good.

if it's Feudal Japan you want, Teshigahara's Rikyu and Princess Goh (sequel, of sorts) are great political dramas. and GREAT, beautiful films. you can prolly get those through Netflix.

political drama: 3 days of the Condor, the Conversation.

the best scene in Potempkin (not the famous stair scene) is the doctor/ship med who focuses his glass on the hanging piece of meat with all the maggots and says: "this meat is fine!". or whatever.

i've been talking a little (a little) with SunCoastSooner and he says there's been another schism at the Times and with the SoonerFamily site. i don't know really; but, i came in with those people on the old minister's board and such. that was my first Sooner board along with the Road Warrior site and Carey's BoomerSooner.net.

so, some of those people i know inna day.

edit: and have a lot of respect for the OUSOTI people...especially in the Blake years. sense of humor was mos def a prereq.
