I didn't know that one extra would kill you though. They should put that on the bottle. 8 ok, 9 possibly deadly.

sorry, not meaning to be mean, but her mother said the label wasn't clear. I'm just wondering what part is not clear.

10 days.

I am so lucky, back in college, I would pop a couple of those and drink 3-4 glasses of water after a night of heavy drinking to avoid the hangover the next day.

Stop use and ask a doctor if:

*Pain gets worse or lasts for more than 10 days

*Overdose warning: Taking more than the recommended dose (overdose) may cause liver damange In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away. Quick medical attention is critical for adults as well as for children even if you do not notice any signs or symptoms.

*Do not take more than directed

that doesn't seem like a whole lot of tylenol.
colin ferrell was taking 25-30 vicodin a day for a long time.

the lowest amount of tylenol you can get in those is 325 mg's.

i never met her, but I know a lot of people who were good friends with her. She was in the horn studio here.

And nice to see the norman transcript is accurate as ever. She went by "Mady" with one d, not two. and she played the mellophone, not the "melaphone".

Thats sad. I can relate with tooth aches...I had my wisdom teeth grow in and began to impact my other teeth...I didnt have dental insurance at the time and dentists are expensive espicially without insurance. I used alot of OTC painkillers too...Guess i was lucky that i didnt take too much of them.

I feel really bad for her family...

you sure it was vicodin/lortab? you can get hydrocodone without the tylenol in it.

yes, i'm positive. i've heard of people taking 7-8,000 mg's of tylenol daily over a long period of time.

it depends on body type. doctors will tell you that you are allowed 4,000 mg a day before you do any real liver damage. that's why it seems strange that she only took 4,500 mg over a ten day period and died. i wonder where they came up with 9 tylenol a day?

either way, very sads news.

it said she took it for 3-4 weeks, not 10 days.

the 10 days part is from the warning label.

She obviously either didn't read the label at all, or not well enough. The mother is understandably grief stricken and simply cant be held responsible for her comments at this time. Even though I don't understand why she didn't get to the dentist, my heart goes out to everyone who loved her. This is very sad. :(

Sorry birddogbbq. That was a clumsy edit. I meant to leave your post intact and change the namecalling to "not nice person." You're right. He's not very impressive. No need to namecall, though.

Same here.

I have heard that acetametaphen (sp) is hard on the liver. Although, so is heavy drinking.......

Sorry for the loss.

I don't have any research to back this up but...
I imagine the "safe" levels on the label are about a third of what 99% of the people could take without any ill effects. The drug compaines have to keep their recommended doses on the extremely safe side just to cover themselves.
