I am in Milano, Italia on a business trip, and I have to say I am not that impressed with the place. Very dirty and industrial.

Well, except for this place...

The Duomo.

One of the most amazing sites in all of Christianity that I have seen. I attended the end of a mass last night, and it was just beautiful.

I am on a fairly long biz trip, and I am ready to get home.

Left feb 16 for Luxembourg,
Drove from Lux to Dusseldorf on feb 19, flew to Madrid on the 22nd, flew to Milan on the 24th, will fly to London tomorrow, and be back home (God Willing) on the 22.

Italy is pretty dirty insofar as industrialization in the North is pretty grimy. it was imposed on top of an existing mode of urban organization and kind of not too well.

be sure to eat some polenta and good pork products like prosciutto di parma.

Had some parma tonight, but the jamon de Iberia was better on this trip.

I snapped some pics of the world famous Museo de Jamon (museum of ham) in Madrid on Saturday. Puts the Thyssen museum to shame IMO.

Also, Mahou is a superior beer compared to Peroni.

OMG. They have a museum... ...of HAM??!!? That might be the most amazing thing I've ever heard of. I suddenly really, really want to visit Madrid.

Oops. I didn't notice that museum was in Madrid, rather than Milan. Makes all kinds of sense. I always figured Madrid was pretty cool. I once again have little desire to visit Milan.

i like Peroni better than Moretti.

i lived for a week off grilled serrano jamon sandwiches in Barcelona. great stuff. the beer i drank had something to do with a crown. cheap and light for a blazing hot day. i liked Spain.

as for Madrid, the Prado is a great museum. great.

The Wal-Mart Supercenter in Owasso is much nicer.

Yeah, but until Owasso can land an international museum dedicated to the art and science of ham, they won't be running with the big dogs.

One cool thing about Madrid, they supposedly have the oldest operating restaurant in the world (1725). It wasn't bad either.

Yeah, Bologna is kind of dirty and grimy too...but the food, OMFG. The only bit of Milan I've seen is the airport.

I like it with bbq sauce.

In college, I'd fry it and make a sandwich with lots of Miracle Whip.

All I know is that all of this talk about ham, bologna and "Milano" makes me want a sandwich.

I like peroni too, in fact, I almost always get peroni, onions and mushrooms. Thin crust.
