If so, you may be due a refund of your Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) from HUD if:

*acquired your loan after September 1, 1983
*paid an up-front mortgage insurance premium at closing and
*did not default on your mortgage payments.

I had never heard of this until I saw a story about it on the news last week. Nothing for me, I guess I didn't have an FHA-insured loan.

Go here and search by your name or FHA case number (http://www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/comp/refunds/)

I wonder if people are enjoying having their names, addresses and ssn listed in the search feature.

Where do you see SSN?

Looks as if the numbers are the FHA loan numbers. I deal with SS#s because of my analyst job and those don't appear to be SS#s.

Yeah. I saw the case number. Don't look like SSN's to me either.
