Oklahoma County GOP Convention over run by Ron Paul supporters.

So yesterday was when the convention was held in OKC. Anyway, during the platform commitee, people kept proposing planks that included (Keep in mind this is a county GOP platform not a state or federal); Let's get out of the UN, no foreign aid, get out of Iraq now, abandon all military bases in other countries.

The interesting thing is that they did this all over the country. They actually had enough volunteers to get some of this passed. Thanks to a savvy County Chairwoman, it was put to an end by holding a walkout by 20 members, leaving not enough people to make a quorum. So, the platform reverts to the last one passed.

These Paul people have decided they will not let it go. However, the also decided that creating a third party (the Libertarians, in their case) is just totally not feasible, so they've decided to try and take over the GOP.

Weird stuff going on politically these days. I'm not talking regular political hi-jinx in a Presidential year. I'm talking about a major political re alliance in both major parties.

In ten years, I think we'll be in a totally different environment politically. Mostly due to the Gen X take over of most positions of power.

I think it's going to be very interesting to watch.

I know the difference between the two. Since MANY people refer to LosAngeles Sooner as LAS, I bastardized. That was my point. I have acutally corresponded with LASooner upon occasion. I have issue with fags that don't sign their neg.
