I spent a large amount of my career working on this program and this was the dreaded moment. Let's hope it wasn't the Spirit of Oklahoma.

Meh, they're $14.4 billion a dozen.

The pilots are safe according to Fox News.

Each B-2 bomber costs about $1.2 billion to build

that is a lot of $$

But the insurance company claims it only covers losses in the continental United States...

Nah, standard coverage area is the U.S. and Canada. :D

Well, see, I have to carry insurance on my B-2 bomber, which is a scam. I could just write a check for 1.2 billion to pay it off (that, by the way, is the difference between me and you) but I got a great rate on it from my bank. But they make me carry insurance. Which is a scam.

Here's a picture of my wife, who was hot about 20 years and 40,000 rum punches ago.

Addressing the original post; spending a large part of your life working to make it succeed; only to watch it crash and scatter putrid, hot ashes all around and on top of you can't be a good thing.

Sounds like my marriage.

Well sir, take comfort in knowing it is a marvelous airplane, and having only lost one in the entire period since first flight is the best evidence you guys who designed and built them did a superb job.

By this point in the B-1 program, we had lost three or four. Now, I know we built 100 Bones compared to far smaller numbers of B-2's, but no B-1 was flown in combat until GWII. Thus, B-2 still has a better safety record IMHO.

You forgot your golf lessons from Sam Snead, and how your private son was supposed to be in a foursome with at least two flag officers for a round of golf.
